Why a modern thigh lift
After massive weight loss, a pocket of fat routinely develops at the junction of the upper thigh and the groin crease. The extra skin and fat causes chafing, and the shape of the thigh and texture of the skin are unsightly.
The traditional thighplasty is a long up-and-down incision like that of the brachioplasty. In Dr. Steffen’s practice, he uses a horizontal wedge excision almost exclusively. This:
- Hides the incision much higher
- Produces a better thigh shape
- Allows for faster recovery
- Carries a lower risk of complications
